Professional Scrum Master

The Professional Scrum Master (PSM) course establishes the core principles and processes of the Scrum framework with a particular focus on the role of the Scrum Master. PSM is the global standard for Scrum Masters.

This course is taught by Edwin Dando who learned Scrum directly from the creators, Jeff Sutherland and Ken Schwaber and has taught Scrum globally for over 12 years. If you want to learn the worlds most popular agile framework from an authority on the topic, this is the course for you.

Course Overview

The course has a strong focus on how to apply Scrum and examines the underlying theory and principles behind why the framework is so successful. Students are challenged to think in terms of the core principles of Scrum, increasing their ability to apply Scrum at work.

As part of the course, all students receive one attempt at the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) assessment.

By the end of the 2-day course, students will:

  • Have a clear understanding of Scrum
  • The Scrum Master accountabilities
  • Get their organization underway with Scrum
  • Deeply understand servant leadership
  • Improve how Scrum is applied in their firm

Who is it for?

While PSM is targeted at Scrum Masters, the core lessons are applicable to anyone involved in agile. Scrum forms the basis for most agile approaches, so obtaining a strong base understanding of Scrum is extremely valuable.  If you are responsible for use of Scrum, this course is a good fit.

This is not an introductory course. A base working knowledge of Scrum is required. Please contact us if you’d like to discuss your applicability for this course.

Students wishing to master their craft can extend the foundations built in this course in the Advanced Scrum Master course.

The PSM1 Assessment tests student’s core Scrum knowledge through a rigorous online assessment, completed after the course. To pass the assessment students require a score of 85% or higher.

Students also receive a 40% discount on the PSM2 assessment, which tests their ability to apply Scrum to solve advanced, complex problems in the real world. We recommend completing our Advanced Scrum Master training course prior to attempting this.

What other people said

This was hands down the best course I have ever attended. I feel really cheated for having done the PSM on my own and not getting the benefits of taking this course. Really well put together and explained and the use of anecdotal learning was phenomenal. Jaime Ginnever, NZME

The techniques taught in this course are relevant, powerful and actionable – and I believe will have a positive impact on our team as we can set priorities and make hard decisions that were, up to now, not being made to the detriment of the product, the customer and the business. Rob MacGregor

The course was presented by Edwin and, from the beginning, you can see that he’s really passionate about the subject and has a lot of experience. I found the number of real-world experiences shown during the course really helped me to grasp the concepts and see how I can approach my current company/team. Eduardo Maino – Orion Health

Edwin Dando is truly a next-level coach – he does not simply regurgitate content but provides real life examples to back it up. There is a real feeling of a wealth of knowledge and experience. He also adapts the course content and delivery to the experience of the participants. Although I have completed facilitation and Scrum training before, I really enjoyed training with Edwin and felt that it provided a fresh perspective on Scrum principles.
